April Kuiper

April is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (English/Spanish) who has served the Anchorage community since 2015. She believes in the power of communication as a means to connection and community, and loves offering hope to patients and families by tapping into their collective resilience.April earned her BA in Spanish Language & Literature (Minor in English) from Grand Valley State University and her MA in Speech-Language Pathology from Calvin University in 2014. She completed her Clinical Fellowship serving Spanish-speaking students in a Chicago public school co-op, and earned her national SLP certification and Alaska license in 2015.Her Anchorage experience spans public schools, children's hospital NICU and intensive care, pediatric outpatient clinics, teletherapy, adult subacute and transitional care, long-term care, and home visits. April has experience working with patients from 6 months to 80+ years of age. Her goal is to foster collaboration across disciplines, partner with patients and caregivers, and educate the entire care team to achieve patient-driven outcomes.April chose to team up with St. Agatha Home Health because of a shared patient first philosophy. A shared philosophy that always puts patient care ahead of profits.Outside of work, April enjoys novels and poetry, knitting and cross stitch, meditation, and yoga. She is the proud parent of two young adults and is utterly obsessed with her fluffy Ragdoll cat.
