IN-HOME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Therapeutic exercises are often prescribed by doctors for patients that need to restore function, motion, and strength in their limbs and joints. As part of the rehabilitation process, nurse practitioners are able to assist with ensuring that these exercises are completed correctly and safely. In other instances, an occupational therapist is needed to regularly evaluate and update the exercise program of patients based on their personal progress and needs

The end goal of our occupational therapists is to ensure that our clients are able to relearn, or master, the skills necessary for living or working. We believe that everyone, regardless of age, should be able to participate in the activities and occupations that they are capable of participating in. We help our clients attain a happier, healthier, and more meaningful life through exercise programs that they are instructed by their doctors to follow.

We also focus on making sure that our clients are safe throughout the entire process. Our OTs can evaluate the home to ensure that there are no safety hazards, and if any are detected we can also make recommendations and undertake changes to get rid of them. We are dedicated to reducing the chances of falling in the home and other home hazards, because as important as it is to recover from an injury it is also important to prevent further injuries

A Unique Approach to Occupational Therapy

We know that everyone has unique needs for daily functioning, and we tailor our services to ensure that our clients can complete the tasks needed in their life. This can include bathing, managing medications, going on a walk, taking care of pets, or driving.

Whereas physical therapy is focused on treating a condition, occupational therapy is focused on ensuring that the body can complete everyday tasks.
How Does Occupational Therapy Work?

In essence, occupational therapy works by mimicking the movements that one needs to be able to complete. Since in the beginning it may not be possible to lift a pan for example and cook, after having had received shoulder surgery, smaller tasks are undertaken. By mimicking the motions needed to accomplish everyday tasks using regularly exercises, the body is able to become stronger and to heal itself.
Quality In-Home Occupational Therapy in Anchorage

Due to the nature of injuries that require occupational therapy, it can be very difficult for clients to travel to a therapy center for regular rehabilitation. To make it easier for those recovering, we offer in-home therapy services that can help clients recover and get stronger right within the comfort of their home.

Our occupational therapists are professional trained and always come prepared with the necessary equipment, aids, and home exercise plans to provide the same caliber of service that would be expected in a therapy center.
